Scalp massage therapy is possibly one of the most relaxing treatments in the world (next to foot massages!). We carry so much tension in our neck and head–having a little relief by massaging those areas is heaven on earth. As relaxing as it is, scalp massage therapy contains a deeper purpose. The most important benefit of a good head massage is increasing blood flow to your head and scalp. This new blood flow will stimulate the capillaries in your head and promote healthy hair regrowth.

What kind of Scalp Massager should I use?

Plastic, metal, and artificial materials are potentially harmful to the scalp as they can scratch and irritate. The Morrocco Method Scalp Massager was hand-molded by Anthony Morrocco, Master Hair Shaman, and made from all natural rubber. This massager is firm enough to give your scalp a deep massage, but gentle enough not to damage your sensitive skin or pull out hair.

How often do I use Scalp Massage Therapy?

For scalp massage therapy for hair loss, we recommend massaging your scalp 1 to 3 times daily. Morning, midday, and just before bed. The Scalp Massager is also a perfect shower companion—you can use it while shampooing to really lift the dirt and oils for a intense scalp cleansing!

How do I use the Scalp Massager?
Short Hair: Begin at the nape of the neck where the largest concentration of sebaceous glands are located. Massaging vigorously in a circular manner all over your head for 3 to 5 minutes or until you feel the scalp tingling from the flow of blood.

Long Hair: The idea is the same with short hair but you’ll want to be careful to avoid tangles. Place the massager straight down onto one area, massage vigorously in a circle, and then pull straight up. Repeat all over your head, one area at a time.

Still curious? We’ve made a video showing you both techniques!

Your reward will be sebaceous glands that produce a balanced, health-enhancing portion of sebum. To put it plainly, your scalp will be healthier after the scalp massage therapy and you’ll stop seeing so much hair in that drain!
