Pele Lava Elixir
Favorite ingredient: Barley Oil - Barley is rich in vitamins like procyanidin-B3, thiamin, and niacin, which help stimulate hair growth. It’s also a source of iron and copper, which helps combat hair loss and premature graying by stimulating the production of melanin in the follicles. Other benefits include healing of any scalp irritation and inflammation.
Directions for use
Our specialty elixirs are restorative hair oils that address scalp health issues and encourage new hair growth. The hair oils are scalp treatments, and not meant to be applied to all of your hair at once; a little goes a long way.
On its own: Start by massaging your scalp using your fingertips or our Scalp Massager and Invigorator. After your massage, shake the bottle and then dispense 2-3 pumps of Pele Lava Elixir onto your fingertips and apply to hairline and thinning areas 2-4 hours before you plan to shampoo.
For a more intense treatment, apply 1-3 hours before bedtime (make sure to cover your pillow or use a nightcap to protect against oil staining if you are leaving the elixir in your hair overnight). In the morning, brush your hair with a natural boar bristle brush and wash or style as usual.
Use as a series:
Apply one of the elixirs once a day per the instructions above for a week, and then switch to the next elixir or take a rest week using the rotation below:
Week 1: Apollo Air Elixir (Lengthen)
Week 2: Poseidon Sea Elixir (Root work)
Week 3: God-dess Earth Elixir (Thicken)
Week 4: Pele Fire Elixir (Strengthen)
Week 5: Rest/Zen Detox treatment
Use individually:
If you’re only using one of the elixirs, follow the same protocol of using an elixir for 4 weeks, and then on the 5th week do a zen detox scalp treatment and allow your scalp to rest. Repeat protocol until elixir is gone.

In conjunction with the lunar hair chart: Used in any season following the "strengthen" goal. Normally, you only need a couple drops of elixir at a time to stimulate the hair follicle, but in this case, you’re going to apply it liberally directly to your scalp–this much elixir should only be used with the Lunar Cut. Using a cotton ball, apply the elixir to your scalp right before you are about to do or receive your lunar haircut.
The elixir needs to be in your hair for at least 24 hours, so do not shampoo after your haircut. Let it settle in overnight. If you have the luxury of allowing your hair to remain oily, try keeping it in for 48 hours for the ultimate growth boost!
