Euro Oil Use #1: As a Facial Cleanser

Oil cleansing the face has become an increasingly popular practice in the age of visual, social media. However, while it seems trendy–it’s important to consider that oil cleansing is a practice that dates back hundreds of years. Women in the 19th century would exclusively use oils to both cleanse and nourish their skin & hair.

A lesser known fact about oils is that they have robust cleaning properties, in addition to their hydrating and moisturizing components. Oils are known as serums and hydrating treatments; but we forget that they are the ideal cleanser.

Furthermore, when you use oil to cleanse your face, you are preventing the acid mantle on your skin’s surface from being disrupted. Compromising the acid mantle on the face can sometimes cause the redness & irritation that some individuals experience after washing their face. The strong, often chemical-based ingredients in some cleanser formulas can leave the skin ripe, unhappy, and needing some natural plant nourishment.

This is where the oil comes in. Euro oil can replace your normal cleanser, as it removes all makeup (including stubborn eyeliner, mascara, etc.) as well as lifts residue from the skin. For optimum results, cleanse twice in two different applications.

To practice oil cleansing, disperse a dime-sized amount of the Euro Oil into your palm. Rub the formula in between the pads of your fingers before applying evenly over your face. After your skin is coated, dampen a gentle cloth or facial brush and work your way around your face to remove the layer of oil. At this point, you’ll likely notice a fair amount of your skin’s residue that has combined with the oil. You’ll be happy to have all of that gunk off of your skin!

Since we eliminate through our skin, think of this practice as simply supporting the body in ridding the body of impurities, environmental pollutants, and other toxins. We recommend practicing oil cleansing once a day before bed, at a minimum, to ensure that your face is clean for the night of sleep ahead. This practice is gentle enough to be done twice a day, if you like to wash your face in the morning, too.

Euro Oil Use #2: Hydrate Dry Ends

On the days when your hair is feeling dry, brittle, damaged, and maybe even in need of a haircut; Euro oil can be a life saver. Our dense, robust formula puts moisture back into your strands and helps prevent further dryness and breakage.

Think of this as a light oiling and leave-in treatment. You want to start small and build up from there. In other words, start with a small amount of oil. After applying that small amount, you can pause to consider if your hair needs more, or if it’s just right. Disperse the oil directly into your palm (start with only 1-3 drops). Rub the oil together in between your hands, and then finger comb, press, and squeeze the oil into your ends. You can use a scrunching motion, as well, for a tousled and voluminous look.

It’s important to only apply the oil to the ends of your hair. You can work one-third of the way up your hair, but going beyond that will give you a weighed-down, greasy look that you’re likely not going for. This oiling practice is meant to seal in the moisture to the end of your hair and help your mane have a healthy shine.

To finish off your day-time look, run our scalp massager over every square inch of your head and do a run-though with one of the boar bristle brushes. Voila! Your hair just got a natural, healthy boost.

Euro Oil Use #3: Scalp Treatment

Scalp treatments are done with the primary purpose of encouraging healthy hair growth. Applying Euro Oil directly to the scalp helps form a foundation for stronger and thicker hair. The oil does a few things: it restores, calms and nourishes your hair follicle and scalp, right at the root level.

Also, the oil cleanses any debris & build up, while helping support your body’s detoxification pathways. In other words, your body expels impurities out thru your scalp, and cleansing that surface area helps to prime your head for more natural hair growth. When your scalp is purified, it’s in a better condition to produce hair. Conversely, clogged follicles, pores and build-up contributes to stagnation and a lack of hair growth.

To perform a scalp treatment using your Euro Oil, apply the oil in about one-half of a dime-sized amount in multiple spots on your head. Think: 7-10 spots. Applying it directly to the scalp out of the bottle makes sure that the oil sits right on your skin, and doesn’t get placed on your hair. The focus with this treatment is the scalp. Another way to apply the oil to your scalp is to squeeze the oil into your palm first, and then press and massage it into your scalp with your finger tips.

With whichever application method you use, be sure to massage the oil into your scalp for approximately 1 minute after applying. To do this, you can use your fingers or the Scalp Massager. This will increase blood circulation to the scalp, encourage lymphatic motility and optimize the efficacy of the treatment. To finish the treatment, make sure you do a double-shampoo in the shower. This will leave your hair thoroughly clarified.

Try experimenting with brushing out the shampoos and conditioners alongside your rinsing step. Our boar bristle brushes are gentle enough to use on wet hair, in case that’s a concern of yours. You’ll notice that they glide through with relative ease when paired with the Morrocco Method’s pure & clean product formulations.
