Red Henna Natural Hair Dye is the perfect color for people looking to add subtle red to their natural hair shade, as well as those looking to become a natural-looking red head.
This henna hair color is particularly beneficial for people needing grey coverage. Applied before the brown henna dye, this red henna dye will help the brown dye adhere to your grey roots. Our henna hair dyes are the best quality natural hair dyes on the market.
Morrocco Method Natural Henna Hair Dye is 100% chemical-free and contains no harsh metals, parabens, or toxins that can irritate your hair and scalp. Every color of henna hair dye is deeply nourishing, conditioning, and the perfect alternative to harsh chemical hair dyes. All of our henna hair products can be used to cover grays and are safe for dying beards and mustaches.
Please note: Each packet of henna contains enough for one application on shoulder-length hair.
What Is Henna?
Henna is made from the leaves of the Lawsonia plant. It is a natural conditioner, able to dye your hair without damaging, drying, or chemically altering its structure. It is the ideal colorant. Our henna is 100% natural and free from synthetic chemicals, making it safe to use while pregnant or breast feeding. Unlike other Henna Hair Dyes, ours has no PPD, Metallic Salts, or Ammonia. Chemically-based dyes often cause split ends and lifeless hair; henna does not. Rather than chemically changing the hair structure and weakening it, henna binds with the keratin, preventing brittleness.
The henna plant, by itself, is naturally green along with the powder that is used for coloring your hair. As you mix it according to the instructions, it will produce a red dye. To achieve different shades of dye, we include a second plant, Indigo (Indigofera Tinctoria), for browns and blacks. For our blonde and neutral Henna Hair Dyes, we use another plant, Cassia, (Cassia Obovata), which by itself is colorless.
How Many Packets Of Henna Do I Need For My Hair?
One packet of Morrocco Method Henna Hair Dye covers shoulder length hair. If your hair is longer than shoulder length, we recommend more than one packet.
How Long Does Henna Hair Dye Last?
Henna Hair Color is a semi-permanent dye and gradually wears off over a period of approximately 8 to 12 weeks. This time period usually coincides with new hair growth, meaning that your roots will match your henna hair color for a nice, even coat most of the time.
What Is Amla Powder And How Do I Use It With My MM Henna?
Amla can be used with our Henna Hair Dyes to create cooler tones, prevent fading, enhance dye uptake, and prevent relaxed curls/waves from henna use. All directions are on the Amla Powder Page, located in the Henna Hair Dye Section.
Amla Powder is added directly to the henna mixture, never to the Indigo. If you were to add it directly to the Indigo it could stop dye release. When using Amla, do NOT use tea, lemon juice, or apple cider vinegar. Mix with warm water ONLY.
Amla Powder can also be added onto hair as a conditioner to add body after henna treatment. Please make sure to wait 72 hours, or 3 days, for the color to set in your hair before applying.
Can I Remove My Henna Hair Color?
You cannot fully remove henna, but don't worry - it will fade over time. However, blonde and very light hair types might still have a dark gold tone. In the meantime, the best way to try to lift Henna color is with a homemade, overnight oil treatment.
Try Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, or Argan Oil.
(Since oil and water do not mix, wetting your hair first would require more shampoo). Rinse. Shampoo normally.
This process will cause the color to fade. Multiple applications may be necessary. The number of applications varies from client to client depending on individual hair type, color, and length of time henna is in your hair. And for some, Henna is very sticky and will not fade well.

A note on green hair: This simply means that the indigo has not been washed out completely
